Chronic Pain Network Launches Pain Connect to Strengthen Patient Engagement in Research

HAMILTON – The Chronic Pain Network (CPN) is proud to announce the launch of Pain Connect, a new platform designed to connect researchers, policymakers, and knowledge mobilizers with people living with pain. This initiative aims to ensure that lived experience is meaningfully integrated into pain research and policy, leading to more effective, patient-centered solutions.
Pain Connect provides opportunities for individuals with lived experience to participate in research studies, collaborate as project partners, and contribute to policy discussions. For researchers and policymakers, the platform offers a valuable resource for engaging patient partners to enhance the relevance and impact of their work.
“People living with pain bring invaluable insights that can improve the quality and effectiveness of research and policy decisions,” says Dr. Norm Buckley, Scientific Director at the Chronic Pain Network. “Pain Connect makes it easier than ever to bring these voices to the table and ensure research reflects the real needs of those affected by chronic pain.”
Chronic pain affects nearly 8 million Canadians, yet it remains under-researched and underfunded. By fostering collaboration between experts and those with lived experience, Pain Connect aims to change the way pain is managed in Canada.
