Developed by people living with pain, for people living with pain.
Introducing MPaCT: A tool to communicate your pain, your way.
Chronic pain is more than a number on a scale.
For people living with pain and other persistent conditions, the question “What’s your pain level from 1 to 10?” often fails to capture what really matters: how pain affects sleep, mood, daily activities, social life, and overall well-being. It also struggles to reflect the reality that pain can occur in multiple places in the body, each with its own intensity and impact.
The My Pain Assessment & Communication Tool (MPaCT) was created to help change that.
MPaCT was developed and focus-tested by an international team of people with lived experience. It is designed to help ensure your experience of pain is seen, heard, and understood, providing a way to document and communicate the full picture of your pain beyond a single number and bring that information into conversations with your healthcare team.
By capturing what matters most to you, MPaCT helps patients and healthcare providers have more meaningful conversations and identify priorities for care together.
A tip sheet is also available below to help you use MPaCT effectively and get the most out of your conversations with your healthcare team.
